A DECLINING CHURCH?
You might be interested to know that at the main 2010 Christmas services – Nine Lessons & Carols, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day - about 1668 people joined in Divine Worship at St Mary Abbots.   Next time you hear one of those conversations about the terminal decline of the Church of England this might be worth mentioning!

OUR MINISTRY TO TOURISTS AND VISITORS
Every day visitors from all over the world visit St Mary Abbots.   Our team of church watchers extends them a warm welcome.

What better way could anyone find to start the New Year?

Well, one way might be to review your personal commitment to the daily ministry of our church.   At St Mary Abbots it’s our privilege to keeping our church open every day of the year, an extraordinary resource valued by so many who come in to pray, to give thanks, to find help in despair.  But this is only possible thanks to our team of CHURCHWATCHERS.   We now have serious gaps in this provision and we are eager to find people who will commit to a couple of hours once a week, once a fortnight, once a month.

Contact Fr Rob 020-7937 2259 or Virger George MacAllan 020 - 7937 5136 – we’re always looking for new volunteers.

ST MARY ABBOTS BOOK CLUB podcasts

Below are the first two podcasts of stories written and presented by members of our Book Club:

THE 'FRIENDS OF ST MARY ABBOTS'
The Friends of St. Mary Abbots, has been formed to encourage a new dimension of support to maintain and improve the fabric of our beautiful church from amongst parishioners, local residents, local businesses and the 60,000 visitors from all over the world who are able to see our church every year as a result of our open church policy.  Excellent progress has been made recruiting new members so far.

Membership details are available in the church or can be obtained from the Parish Office.  Further information is also obtained here and from the Chairman, David Banks

ELECTORAL ROLL
Everyone over 16 who worships with us regularly should be entered on the CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL.  You must be over 16 and baptised & either: live in the parish; or, if living outside the parish, to have worshipped regularly here for at least the last 6 months.    If you’re not on the Roll already, fill out and hand in an Electoral Roll form. They’re just by the south door. A copy of our current Roll is attached to the notice board by the South Door / Church Watchers Desk.  Please contact our Electoral Roll officier if you would like to find out more.

CHILDREN ON SUNDAY
If you bring your children to church on Sundays but don’t receive emails or notices then for some reason we haven’t got your contact details.   Perhaps you’ve never filled in a registration form?   Ask your child’s Group Leader for one, email our Children on Sunday coordinator , or download it here and hand it the next time you come.
